Jersey Appreciation Friday Vol. 38

This week's Jersey Appreciation Friday goes out to a team that should've been recognized a while ago. In terms of uniforms, Marquette has recently lost its way. But we can't ignore the fact that Marquette actually had some of the coolest jerseys the sport has seen in the 2000s. The navy blue jersey with the yellow, light blue and navy blue piping  was one the most unique designs I have seen. I feel bad because I should have mentioned Marquette earlier than Week 38 of JAF. But whatever they made the list now. Click Here

Jersey Appreciation Friday Vol. 37

I've mentioned multiple times before that I admire the black and green color combination, especially with the new Celtics uniforms coming out last week. Since then, I've been trying to think of a college team that utilizes the black and green well. It was actually pretty hard to find a good example, but after careful consideration, I'm rolling with the Hurricanes of Miami. Their black uniforms (I'm not quite sure if they are still used) feature forest green trim and orange lettering. The green alone is a nice secondary color, but the orange really makes the uniform pop. Well done, Miami. Click Here

Jersey Appreciation Friday Vol. 36

This week's Jersey (or should I say "Jerseys") Appreciation Friday goes to all the NBA Statement Jerseys that were officially released tonight. I loved how the NBA revealed these. The collective unveiling of all 30 teams was an awesome sight. Check the video if you're interested. Now some are the same as the alternates from past seasons, but others are really unique. Obviously I think the Celtics have done a great job, but the efforts from Portland, Oklahoma City, Brooklyn, Orlando and Utah are also appreciated. Good job to them for switching it up and switching it up well. I'll come out with a ranking on the next podcast. Click Here

Jersey Appreciation Friday Vol. 35

Sorry for the 4th or 5th edition of Jersey Appreciation Saturday, so much basketball boredom made me fall asleep at 7 o'clock last night. Anyway, all the talk last week about the 2008 Eastern Conference All Star uniforms got me thinking. The New Orleans Pelicans have really dope jerseys too. Personally I like the red one the best, but the overall combo of navy, gold, red and white fits the city well. I'm not a huge font guy, but the Pelicans' font has to be top 5 in the NBA at least. Click Here

Jersey Appreciation Friday Vol. 34

The NBA All Star Game usually comes and goes without much fanfare, and aside from the usual 350 points scored between the two teams, it's not really memorable. It has been like that for every game I remember except one, and that was the 2008 All Star Game. Now the game happened as usual, but the Eastern Conference uniforms really stood out. The creative New Orleans-esque design, the blue, red and gray color scheme and the striping really set it apart. It was so good that I actually got one. Click Here
